Provide expert services and project management focusing on US / CAN Compensation. Provide the Compensation team, HR Business Partners, Business Unit Managers and key stakeholders with strategic consultation and operational/technical support.
Responsibilities include:
Data analysis - including comparison of positions/employee data to market/internally, and ability to report on findings to various constituents (i.e., executive summaries, detailed tabulations).
Reporting and Analysis - Prepare complex analyses and present in a format that illustrates a line of sight from compensation trends and practices to business performance.
Consultant to HR & business unit managers - provide expert guidance on all areas of compensation.
Serve as shared services contact on all compensation projects for assigned Business Unit(s).
Job Evaluation - using current process, evaluate positions as requested by the businesses. Must have an understanding of Job Evaluation, and be familiar with steps to evaluate (exclusive of a particular system).
Administer all annual staff compensation cycle pay impacts - incentive, base salary increase & equity (as appropriate) for assigned Business Unit(s).
Partner with Executive Compensation Consultant, HR Business Partner and/or Corporate HR to address and administer all Officer pay impacts, including equity, for assigned Business Unit(s).
Act a project manager on Business Unit-specific as well as overall US Compensation efforts - for example, annual compensation cycle.
Actively participate and contribute to ad hoc and standing HR cross-functional team initiatives.
Effectively develop industry relationships and affiliations to garner market intelligence.
Provides expertise and counsel in market trends, total cash compensation programs, design/re-design of incentive compensation programs, deferred compensation, demographics and expense impact.
Develops and maintains a solid network of internal and external contacts, and establishes presence in HR/compensation professional organizations and employer groups.
Support the compensation team on operational and customer-focused metrics, data requests and other assignments as the business evolves, and lead projects as assigned.
Qualifications:
7-10 years relevant business experience
B.S./B.A. in Finance, Accounting, Human Resources or math related field, MBA or MS in Finance preferred
Excellent analytical skills, project management and vendor management experience
Detail oriented, well organized with strong time management skills
Solid executive and non-executive compensation background including: equity and deferral programs, job evaluation, surveys, data analysis, research and cost modeling
Advanced technical skills in Excel, Access, database queries, Visio/PowerPoint
Experience in financial reporting and forecasting
Strong oral and written communication skills, ability to create and deliver presentation material
Must be able to work with highly confidential information and interacts frequently with senior company officials
Team player with solid leadership & influencing skills who can easily handle shifting priorities, multi-tasking in a deadline oriented environment
Plays a senior role within US Compensation and US Human Resources. Acts as coach, mentor, and leader to less experienced team members in all areas of compensation
Demonstrate excellent customer service skills
Ability to understand cross border compensation programs
Ability to travel, as needed
